Gun Beach, named for having a WWII gun on the beach, is located at far northern end of Tumon. It’s a wonderful place to relax, swim and picnic. It’s possible to snorkel or scuba dive beyond the reef by swimming through a cut in the reef. Be extra careful of the current when there are larger waves breaking on the reef and when the tide is going out. A lot of water from Tumon bay exits through the cut in the reef at these times. Being pulled out through the cut while swimming, or not being able to get back in after snorkeling or diving are the main concerns. Alcohol and swimming in this area do not mix well. So just stay on the beach if you’ve been drinking.
